We invite kids ages 6 - 10 years old to think and feel like an artist

We are excited to offer a creative space for our young artists to find their own authentic expression through drawing, painting and ceramics with high quality art materials. While the core of our art program is structured around the specific needs and desires of the young artist to effectively express their unique voices, an emphasis is placed on techniques: light and shadow, color theory, anatomy, proportion, composition - the foundation from which they can creatively explore outward.

I also want to encourage our kids to practice the art of looking at objects in space, in other words, three-dimensionally. I believe that our young artists’ visual perception has been compromised by the two dimensional flat world of YouTube and the like. I want to encourage them to really see and feel objects in space as forms that have volume - then translate that to the page.

• There will be no After School classes on the following days:
  1/3, 1/5 ~ Week 3, Winter Camp - we will have camp!

  Fri, 3/29 ~ Cesar Chavez Day - we will have a full-day camp!

  4/1-5, 4/8-12 ~ Spring Break weeks - we have camp!

* We require 24hr notice if your young artist will not make it to class. If class is missed without notice, it will count as an attended class. If your child is sick that day, let us know before 1:30pm and there will be no charge.
